Ag-Tech Competition in Salinas, CA Combines Innovation, Farmers and Technology

Winner of the Forbes Thrive Accelerator Sustainability Award, California Safe Soil (CSS), uses a process that takes unsold food from grocery stores and through heat, enzymatic digestion and pasteurization creates a unique liquid fertilizer. Lorri Koster, CEO of Mann Packing, mentored CSS throughout the accelerator program and assisted the company in several trials. CSS continues to run trials and conduct research with a goal of someday being able to build a plant in the Salinas area. This would allow CSS to market the locally made H2H fertilizer to local growers.
