Walt Pounds

Walt worked in the information technology industry for over 30 years in financial and general management roles. Early in his career he was employed at Digital Equipment Corp. and Storage Technology Corp. However most of his experience has been early stage companies. He worked as CFO at two venture capital backed start-ups funded by Mayfield; Kleiner, Perkins and Sequoia. Walt joined Solbourne in 1994, initially as CFO and four years later negotiated the purchase of Solbourne from Panasonic. As President he worked closely with Geoff Moore, author of Crossing the Chasm, redirecting the strategy to provide IT consulting services to the Oracle Applications market. After growing the company to 130 employees Walt negotiated the sale of the business to Deloitte Consulting in 2008. He completed a transition contract with Deloitte in 2011. Other board member roles include Board President of the Imagine Foundation (serving the needs of the disabled in Boulder County Colorado), CaraSolva, past President of Financial Executives International Denver Chapter. He is a member of Social Venture Partners, Investor Circle and Social Venture Network. Walt received his MBA from the University of Colorado and BS from the University of Northern Colorado.
