Food Scrap Based Liquid Fertilizer Increases Yield, Decreases Water Consumption
22-Jul-2015

H2H increases organic matter and in turn, expands the plant root system. Through this expansion, plants are able to retain more water and nitrogen, which decreases the amount of nitrate runoff and water consumption. CSS has performed numerous trials and research with our product, Harvest-to-Harvest (H2H) at UC Davis, with UCCE researchers as well as with independent researchers. One trial has shown that using 20% less water with H2H can produce yields comparable to tomatoes receiving the normal water rate. Other studies have demonstrated that nitrogen fertilizer use can be reduced by 50 percent while still increasing crop yields.
